Flooding, landslides cause damage

  Civil defense agency SINAPROC is reporting that several communities in Colón have experienced problems due to flooding and landslides. Varela to make trip to explain Parlacen decision

Vice President Juan Carlos Varela confirmed this afternoon that he will begin a tour of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador to officially give those countries notice of Panama's intention to leave Parlacen. Deaths of three children to be investigated

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Chiriquí has opened an investigation into the death of three children who died in the Bugaba district. Prosecutor Nedelka Díaz said the investigation has been opened after the father of the children accused his wife of child abuse. An autopsy determined that the three children, two girls and a boy, died about the same time of natural causes. Traffic light situation up in the air

At the beginning of the project to modernize Panama's traffic light system, transportation agency ATTT said the project would cost $7 million and reduce driving time around the city by 50 percent. Expansion of Corredor Sur considered

Based on the increase of traffic on the Corredor Sur recently, operator ICA Panama said that it may plan to expand the highway.
