San Miguelito to increase salaries
The national government will continue to subsidize the municipality of San Miguelito as the Executive branch has authorized a $1 million payment to allow it to increase the salaries of some 700 employees making less than $325 a month.
The San Miguelito government announced that payment yesterday during its adoption of a spending plan for next year. The budget is $300,000 more than the current spending plan, which resulted in a budget shortfall.
In the past three years, the federal government has made payments totaling $5.3 million to the municipality to allow it to meet its budget shortfalls. That amount includes the $1 million grant slated for next year.
