Spanish version

Temas:

The Drug Prosecutor's Office has requested the public records of companies and firms linked to Nidal and Abdul Waked that the U.S. Department of the Treasury has accused of money laundering and drug trafficking.

A judicial source said that this is one of the first steps carried out by the prosecutor in charge of the case, Markel Mora.

It was also reported that the prosecutor's office is in the process of verifying all information collected during the last week and analyzing the request for judicial assistance from the United States.

In this regard, a source explained that the prosecutor is trying to see if a case can be prosecuted under the Panamanian penal code.

On Monday, Waked lawyer Guillermina McDonald verified the case file and said it only includes reports from newspapers and the internet.
