Panama Manager Roberto Kelly said today that the team's loss to Brazil yesterday in the opening game of qualifying for the World Baseball Classic was due to a lack of offense.
Brazil defeated Panama 3-2 at Rod Carew Stadium.
"They took advantage of the opportunities when they had them, and that was the difference," Kelly said.
Brazil Manager Barry Larkin commented that he was proud of the work that his players did were even though they had problems at the beginning of the game.
The tournament, which also features Nicaragua and Colombia, is a double elimination, meaning Panama cannot lose another game or it will be eliminated.
