The father of Mariano Rivera confirmed today that his son's surgery to fix a knee injury was a success.
The father, who lives in La Chorrera, did not provide any more details about the operation.
He said that "everything went well in the operation." It repaired ligament damage in the baseball player's right knee.
Rivera was injured on May 3 in Kansas City while shagging balls in the outfield. The injury has threatened to end the all-star's career.
