03/08/2012 - Panamanian long jumper Irving Saladino was eliminated from the long jump competition at London 2012 Olympics after failing on his three attempts during the qualifying round of this event held at the Olympic Stadium.
Saladino went to London to defend the title he reached four years ago in Beijing 2008; however, he could not qualify for the final round to be developed this Saturday.
The general qualification is led by Amercian Marquise Goodwin and Brazilian Mauro da Silva, both with an 8.11 meters record.
After Saladino’s performance, there are only three Panamanian athletes left; Andrea Ferris and Alonso Edwards who will compete next week in athletics and Carolena Carstens in taekwondo, who also competes next week.
