05/12/2012 - A group of firefighters protested today outside the headquarters of this entity located on Avenida Cuba.
Firefighters were protesting for the second consecutive day about the failure of the government to deliver promised salary increases.
"We have not received answers," noted protester Cruz Gómez.
Gómez is on hunger strike to protest the government's actions against the firefighters, which includes suspending vacations and opening disciplinary processes.
He said the department is trying to force him to retire, but responded that: "I'm not going to give away 17 years of work."
The government has claimed the pay increases will be delivered over the next two years.
