14/03/2013 - Officials with civil defense agency Sinaproc this morning inspected the structure of the Albrook shopping center to determine if it could be reopened afater a fire yesterday damaged a warehouse.
Sinaproc Emergency Director Heriberto Chávez confirmed this morning that there is no smoke within the mall since it was properly ventilated last night with fans.
Chávez said the mall was successfully evacuated during yesterday's incident and that the shopping center security personnel successfully ran the evacuation plan.
The bus terminal attached to the mall was open as normal today.
Last night President Ricardo Martinelli thanked the firefighters for their work to quell the fire.
Martinelli did not give a total figure on the losses from the fire, but said it could be as much as $15 million.
