25/08/2012 - Mayor of Bugaba, Joaquín Castillo said this Saturday, Aug. 25 he agrees with the fight of the more than 23,000 residents from Chiriquí province so the highlands can be turned into a district.
According to Castillo, Bugaba is “the promised land” since it has temperatures going from 10 degrees Celsius up to 23 degrees Celsius, with altitudes from 80 meters up to 3,475 meters, and with a surface of more than 800 square kilometers.
“It is too vast for a Mayor, and to share we have to give crumbs for 13 neighborhoods, since we are not a subsidized district”, he said.
It is time for a political division in highlands, because there are many neighborhoods which can be easily divided and have all his support, said Castillo.
A march will be developed since 9 a.m. of this Sunday leaving from Cuesta de Piedra, and will go over all the neighborhoods to be included in the district. The march will end in Volcán’s park.
