17/12/2012 - Ventura Vega, director of transit agency ATTT, said that the free passage on the Corredor Sur and Corredor Norte from Dec. 19 to Dec. 24 will reduce traffic in Panama City by 30 percent.
The measure, which was approved by the Cabinet Council Dec. 11, will cost the government $2.76 million.
On the other hand, Vega said that other anti-traffic measures have also gone into effect. These include a restriction on deliveries from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the placement of 70 police officers to direct traffic at key intersections.
There are also extra officers stationed at mall entrances.
