Attorney General José Ayú Prado said today that "all lawyers, from the day they enter school, aspire to be on the Supreme Court."
But he added that there is a difference between "lobbying for a job and doing a job."
He made those statements during a discussion about the upcoming vacancy on the Supreme Court to replace Judge Anibal Salas.
The attorney general said that he would certainly consider the position if asked to serve.
"I have almost 29 years of service," he said, adding that no one has discussed a possible appointment with him.
There has been no public announcements about the selection process for the new judge.
