08/02/2012 - She made that statement before the Commission on Trade and Economic Affairs of the National Assembly, in the presence of Ministers of Government Jorge Ricardo Fábrega and Minister of Commerce and Industries Ricardo Quijano, during a hearing on mining reforms today.
The leader said that her people have suffered a long time because the government does not have the desire to listen to their aspirations. She added that it is not the first time that they have gone to the National Assembly to fight for their rights and to avoid hydroelectric exploitations and mining in the region.
This afternoon, the committee began debating the law that governs mining ans the use of aquatic resources within the comarca.
Carrera said that the government needs to understand that there is no flexibility on this issue.
