17/11/2012 - The Ministry of Health said that it is recruiting foreign doctors to work in remote areas.
Minister of Health, Javier Díaz said that there is a shortage of local medical professionals willing to work in these areas, which is why the government is looking to hire physicians from Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
The areas being served by these doctors include Bocas del Toro, the Darién and the Guna Yala and Ngäbe-Buglé comarcas.
The specialties being recruited include general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology and internal medicine.
