18/03/2013 - The Commission of Economy and Finance of the National Assembly resumed its discussion this afternoon of the bill that reforms the Panama Savings Fund.
The discussion, in first debate, included Deputy Minister of Finance Mahesh Khemlani, who defended the document.
However, opposition deputies have denounced the bill because they claim it will lead to the sale of shares owned by the government in private companies, a proposal put forward by the Executive.
PRD Deputy Rubén De León said that the bill should not be discussed at this time because of the upcoming political campaign.
