28/12/2012 - National Assembly President Sergio Gálvez defended today his first six months in office.
According to Gálvez, his period has been one of the most "productive" in comparison with previous administrations.
"This House has been one of the most productive with 61 discussions and third debates," he said.
Referring to the controversial Act 72, which allowed the sale of the lands in the Colón Free Zone, Gálvez reiterated that it was a great project, "a great opportunity that was lost for the province of Colón."
He admitted that he has "made" mistakes during his tenure, especially in laws that have "inflamed" the Panamanian population, but assured that they were "corrected" immediately.
Gálvez will provide over the Jan. 2 meeting of the Assembly when President Ricardo Martinelli addresses the House and the nation.
