27/12/2012 - Former Attorney General Ana Matilde Gómez said today that she is in the process of collecting signatures to run for the National Assembly in the 8-7 circuit.
"I want to go as an independent," announced Gómez. She said that the National Assembly is a forum where it is necessary to raise the level of discussion about the future of the country.
"I can't stay out of the House while I see all the things that are happening," she said.
In 2010, the plenum of the Supreme Court suspended Gómez as attorney general.
She was accused of abuse of authority and other crimes by a former prosecutor.
