19/12/2012 - The government will culminate the process of compensation to owners of the so-called "diablos rojos" during the first quarter of 2013, Minister of the Presidency Roberto Henríquez said today.
The minister said that only nine routes remain to be taken over by the Metro system, which is supposed to upgrade public transportation in Panama City.
"In the first quarter of next year we will compensate the owners of buses on the nine routes that are outstanding," the minister said.
The minister also stated that the construction of more bus stops has started in areas where they are lacking, most notably the District of San Miguelito.
He made those statements while inspecting a station where people can recharge their Metro cards in La Doña.
