New Customs Director Virna Luque said today that the agency will not make layoffs once it is merged with Immigration.
Luque said that the agency has a "valuable staff" who will continue to have jobs. She added that no staffing changes are planned once the merger happens.
"Nothing has changed and people will continue in their posts," she said.
While there will be some restructuring, the actual changes will be decided on by a technical commission that is being formed.
