Visits restricted at David Hospital due to bacteria

18/11/2012 - The presence of the bacterium clostridium difficicle has prompted medical authorities of the Rafael Hernandez Hospital of David to suspend visiting hours for the general public, with only family members allowed to visit patients.
The bacterium is spread by person to person contact, and the hospital has put measures in place that are used to contain nosocomial bacteria.
The bacterium causes gastrointestinal diseases which can trigger diarrhea.
