Quijano defends appointments

De acuerdo con Quijano, tanto Belfon como Ayú Prado son personas serias.

21/12/2012 - Minister of Trade and Industry Ricardo Quijano defended the designations of Ana Belfon and José Ayú Prado as attorney general and Supreme Court justice, respectively.

According to Quijano, both Belfon and Ayu Prado are serious, responsible, experienced and qualified people.

"These are two good workers," said the official, who said that they also have the character to make a country work.

WAKE UP CALL

On the other hand, Quijano said that President Ricardo Martinelli has called attention to several ministers who have been absent from the meetings of the Cabinet.

"One must participate in all sessions... we have to fulfill that responsibility," he said.

The statements of the minister were made due to the fact that four Cabinet members did not sign the resolution that designated Ayú Prado and Belfon.

On this subject, Panameñista Deputy José Isabel Blandón said that the ministers "are beginning to become aware that the day of accountability will come."
