21/12/2012 - Former Comptroller Alvin Weeden said today that there is no hope for justice to be done with the current authorities.
Weeden offered these statements when asked about the case surrounding the distribution of 30,000 hams by National Assembly President Sergio Gálvez. He added that he doesn't trust the authorities, in this case the Comptroller and the Public Ministry, to act in this case.
Comptroller Gioconda de Bianchini has already said the case will not be investigated.
Civic groups and opposition politicians have requested that the spending of $675,000 on the hams be investigated.
Weeden said there will have to be a change in government for the case to be investigated.
