02/03/2012 - Legislator president of the National Assembly, Héctor Aparicio said he formally requested to the Attorney General’s Office an investigation for the riots registered yesterday in the afternoon on the surrounding areas of such entity.
“Being aware of the situation this implies, we want to formally request an investigation to the proper authorities”, said Aparicio at a press conference.
The legislator said this institution has the best disposition to collaborate with this investigation. Thus, he mentioned they will provide copies of the recordings they made yesterday with cameras from the National Assembly. He also said they will provide all the required information from the security staff of the entity.
About the confrontations, Aparicio said security agents had to use rubber bullets and paintballs, which were made as a “warning” to protesters.
The brawl at the Assembly resulted in four injured indigenous people with rubber bullets and pellets, and an injured security agent from the National Assembly.
