Suntracs threatens to leave dialogue

17/12/2012 - Saúl Méndez, the leader of construction workers union Suntracs, said today that the group is unhappy with the methodology being used in the dialogue on the future of Colón.

He said the group sent a letter to the Bishop of Colón and Guna Yala Audilio Aguilar to demand a change or else the union would withdraw.

Méndez also accused the government as using the recent flooding as an excuse to halt the dialogue.

Minister of Government Jorge Ricardo Fábrega said the dialogue will resume once the Cabinet Council has lifted the state of emergency for the area.
